Southeast GSO community loses fight with developer
The sky was clear but lighting struck down the efforts of a southeast Greensboro community in what has shaped up to be a battle to the end against a local city developer.
The council voted 6-2 in favor of a proposal by developer Keystone Group to add an additional apartment complex near a single-family residential neighborhood on Meadow Oak Drive in Greensboro. The property bordering the single family neighborhood near Rehobeth Church Road already holds three apartment complex units.

Local NAACP hosts education forum
The Greensboro NAACP is slated to host an education forum for the community Sunday, July 20 evening at New Light Missionary Baptist Church. Organizers say the forum is designed to help parents become more informed and involved in their children’s schooling.
Yvonne Hunt Perry, a retired educator and the education committee chair of the local advocacy branch added, the open discussion is also an effort to halt the finger-pointing sometimes exchanged between community stakeholders concerning who’s at fault for the academic underachievement among young people. ...Click here for the full article
